Whether it’s dealing with Zoom classes at the most ungodly hours, searching for the best coffee in Tokyo, or struggling to figure out ITC-LMS, we’d love to hear about it. Komaba Times is an English-language student-led magazine; a space for students to create, to express themselves.
Our theme for the April 2022 issue is REALITY, and we’re inviting you to be a part of it, whether as a writer, photographer, or creative. As long as you’re a student at UTokyo (at any level, at any of the campuses, not just Komaba), you’re welcome to join the team. There really aren’t many rules; interpret our prompt however you’d like!In our last issue, Issue 10, we covered a range of topics – from sexism in Todai, water fountains on the Komaba campus, and how to pretend you’re in Tokyo during the pandemic. Check out our past issues on our website.
Application To be a part of this, fill up this form: https://tinyurl.com/komabatimes22. Tell us about yourself, what you’re studying, and what you’d like to contribute – the format (whether writing, illustration, photograph, or others) and a short pitch of about 50-100 words. We’d love to know more about your work too, so do submit a sample (it can be anything you’ve ever done) related to past work you’ve done in a similar format! Feel free to email thekomabatimes@gmail.com if you’ve got any questions or concerns. We’re so excited to hear from you!
